Windows 8 comes in both, 32 bit and 64 bit versions. This question is asked several times “Is My Windows 8 32 Bit Or 64 Bit”. It is really important to know the edition/version of Windows 8 (32 bit or 64 bit) we are running. A hardware driver meant for 32 bit Windows 8 would not work on 64 bit version and vice versa.
It is quite easy to find out the version of Windows 8 you are running on your machine. ‘System’ Window clearly shows the version of Windows 8 you are using. Different ways to open System Windows are:
- Bring mouse pointer to bottom left corner of sceen and right click. Click on ‘System’ from the list of options.
- Right Click on ‘Computer’ and then click on ‘Properties’.
- On your keyboard, press Windows + Pause/Break Keys together and ‘System’ Window pops up on screen.
