Got a new Windows 8 device and don’t know how to connect to wireless network? Windows 8 has a different interface than Windows 7. Follow these simple steps to know how to connect to Wireless Network.
Step 1: Press Windows+C keys together and charms bar comes in sliding from the right side of your screen. You can also bring in Charms Bar by just moving the mouse pointer to top or bottom right corner of your screen.
Step 2: Click on ‘Settings’ and that brings in ‘Settings’ options.
Step 3: In ‘Settings’ options, click on the wireless symbol that says ‘Available’. This gives you the list of all available Networks.
Step 4: Click on the name of network you would like to connect to. Also click on checkbox ‘Connect automatically’ if you would like to connect to this network automatically every time you power on your PC. Click on ‘Connect’.
Step 5: Depending on your wireless router, you would be asked to ‘Enter the PIN from router label’ or you may click on ‘Connect using a security key instead’. I have my security key set up in my router and I would therefore click on ‘Connect using a security key instead’ and click ‘Next’.
Step 6: You would be asked “Do you want to turn on sharing between PCs and connect to devices on this network?”. Click on ‘No’ if it is a public network and ‘Yes’ if it is a home network. I would click on ‘Yes’.
Step 7: In few seconds you would see you are connected to your network and you would see ‘Connected’ showing with your network.
Right Clicking on your network gives you some more options as shown in screenshot below.
